The flat is located inside a wonderful historical building which was the house of the embassy of the Duchy of Milan during the 15th century. It is situated on the 4th floor ( 86 steps without elevator ) but once you reach the top the full 360° breathtaking view will leave you speechless.
The property has undergone a recent renovation to further enhance its endless beauty and traditional 15th century features. This new look has refreshed both the downstairs and upstairsmaking the apartment even more cozier and confortable for guests to enjoy. The original red terracotta floors now shine white and some of the antique furniture has been re-modelled to achieve a more modern and stylish approach.
The flat develops on two levels, on the first floor you can find the bright and spacious master bedroom with en suite marble bathroom and shower, and a second bedroom which can be either double or twin. Both rooms are boast charming views over the red florentine rooftops. A second bathroom with shower can be found too.
A charming staircase leads you to the even more "romantic" second floor. This is a truly unique and fascinating space that hosts a lounge, dining area and a fully equipped kitchen. Nine incredible windows, spread all around the room illuminate and offer a breath taking view of Florence (Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Croce, The Duomo ... ), without forgetting the two exclusive panoramic terraces, furnished for unforgettable outdoors meals and for simply enjoying a glass of wine whilst admiring the mesmerizing views.
All the materials used for the construction of this apartment are unique and original, dating back to the 15th century: the pavements are made of florentine terracotta and the ceilings of wooden beams. The apartment is exceptionally convenient for guests wishing to explore the city centre and visit Florence's main attractions. No need for a car, bus or taxi! This is a gem in a safe, convenient Florence neighborhood. The views from both balconies were better than advertised. The décor was a perfect blend of shabby and antique, with the feel of an upscale country villa. Our host, Erika, met us on scene to show us the apartment. She was quick to respond to any questions we had. Ask her about cooking classes in Florence and you won't be disappointed! There are 90 or so steps to get to the apartment, which was completely fine for our family. Erika is able to schedule a luggage porter if you prefer to not carry your own luggage. The two bedrooms and two full bathrooms were downstairs while the kitchen, living room, and balconies were upstairs. We had great weather during our stay the air conditoning worked wonders. The building was secured by a locking main door, another locked interior gate, as well as a heavy dead-bolted door in the apartment. The neighborhood is a block or so from the five-star Hotel Bernini. There are restaurants, cafes, shopping, and Florence landmarks within short walks. There was also a famous Tik Tok panini shop around the corner. We avoided the lines and went to the less famous neighboring places whose bread, sliced prosciutto, and cheese warranted a VRBO tip of the cap. The best compliment I could think to give about this location is I want people I care about to have a chance to experience it.

The location of this apartment can’t be beat. Great views and so close to many of the coffee shops (bars) and restaurants. As everyone comments, the stairs are something that must be factored into your decision to stay here. We are in good shape and it was a challenge for us when carrying the luggage. We got used to it and viewed the exercise as a positive after eating all of the pasta and gelato. The restaurant guide that is in the unit was so helpful and accurate. Be sure to use it. Very clean and spacious. We would definitely stay here again.

All of Florence is viewable from the stunning view from every window of this amazing property, and lots of sites are within a 5-10 minute walk in any direction. We loved our stay! The bedroom/bathroom configuration worked perfectly for our two couples, and the kitchen/living area upstairs was perfect for meals and relaxing between travels across town and into the Tuscan countryside. The hospitality was terrific…we appreciated being greeted with wine and porter service, and the notebook full of insights about things to do and places to visit was helpful. We hope to be back again after a memorable stay!

We loved our stay at this gorgeous spotless rooftop apartment. The stairs are no joke but I thought worth it for the amazing views. I loved watching the sunrises every morning, the location can’t be beat, and our day with Erika exploring the local market and cooking dinner together was a highlight. We appreciated that all essentials were provided. Upon checkout we were allowed to leave our bags in the apartment until our train departed later that afternoon. Erika also called us a cab to go to the train station.

Wow, where do I even begin...This house is not only in the most amazing location but it couldn't be more perfect. The views are breathtaking, the walkability to everything was just perfect, the house is adorable and everything you could possibly imagine. Starting our trip here really did spoil us and set the expectations quite high. I will be returning to this magical place 100%. And if the house wasn't enough, the hosts...just so lovely and accommodating. When there was a train strike and we had to get to another city they jumped right in to help and really did save us. There aren't enough wonderful words to describe our whole experience. This place is a Florence MUST!

Just finished a three night stay with our two recently adult children. The property is in the middle of a bunch of great restaurants and less than 15 minute walk from anything you have to see in Florence. It also has 360 views off the two decks of the Florentine skyline. Erika was a welcoming and responsive host and made the trip very easy. Highly recommend.

We stayed at this beautiful apartment end of May and had the best experience we’ve ever had staying at a rental property. The apartment is absolutely perfect. Location is excellent, close proximity to all attractions and many outstanding restaurants and shops. They thought of everything here… great views from both balcony and terrace, which we enjoyed coffee in the morning and glass of wine late in the day. The beds are super comfortable. All amenities you could possibly need are available in the apartment… truly a home away from home. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and did a cooking class with Erika, who is quite possibly one of the most lovely people we met while in Italy. Not only was our dinner outstanding, but we enjoyed her company so much… it was like spending a day with an old friend. Many stories of old Italian traditions which brought so many memories of our own family who came from Italy. An unforgettable experience for sure. We also did the market tour with her which was so much fun! We were able to pick out some items which we don’t have where we are from, so we loved being involved in the shopping part of the dinner. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful stay in Florence, where you won’t have to worry or think about anything else but having a lovely, stress-free holiday. If you want to live in Florence luxury and want to immerse yourself in living the life of a Florentine, then this residence is for you. The apartment is stunning. With a 500 year history, on a quiet street and impeccably maintained, we fell in love the minute we stepped inside. The photos do not do it justice. Erika is a wonderful property manager and made check in and check out as easy as possible. The views from the apartment are stunning. My wife and I would have a cup of espresso every morning from one terrace overlooking Il Duomo and at night have a glass of wine on the other overlooking Palazzo Vecchio. A dream. Be aware of the stairs. It did not bother our family at all but there are over 90 with no elevator. For us, it was an additional calorie burn to justify eating and drinking more of the amazing food and wine of the area! Lastly, you could not ask for a better location. We were close to EVERYTHING. And the quiet street made it so nice to come home to at night. Amazing property. Thank you to the hosts for sharing it.

The location is perfect, best shops, cafes, a fabulous juice bar, and museums. The steps are certainly something to be aware of- they are just fine for any able bodied person but would be limiting for anyone who had disabilities. Erika, the property manager was prompt and helpful. A wonderful stay.

We couldn’t have enjoyed our stay at Donatella’s space more! From the beginning, there were clear instructions and recommendations in the area. There was flexibility in meeting us for an early check-in, showing us around the apartment, and an offer to pay to bring our bags up. The apartment has everything we needed with unbelievable views and space to enjoy outdoors. We enjoyed being able to walk to everything with ease. We would love to be able to visit again!

Although we didn't have the opportunity to stay at Visconti due to unforeseen circumstances (water leak), I must commend the efficiency of the check-in process and the hospitality of Erika. Despite the inconvenience caused by a water leak, the owner promptly offered an alternative and seamlessly arranged for us to move to another apartment. We were graciously relocated to G9 Vasari View, where we experienced the same level of luxury and comfort as described in our review of Vasari. Thank you for your swift resolution. Highly recommended for their professionalism and dedication to guest satisfaction.

We had a wonderful stay at Donatella’s beautiful Florence apartment. It is very centrally located and very walkable to all key sights and restaurants, shops, etc. The hosts are very communicative and easy to reach if needed. They also provided ample information on what do and see in the area. Highly recommend!

The apartment was close to everything that we had in mind doing while in Florence. We couldn’t ask for a better place! The host (Erika) was very welcoming & met us during our checkin. The apartment had plenty of amenities which eased our stay. We didn’t mind climbing the stairs but hadn’t realized how hard it was with our heavy luggage! I recommend to pack light since the place also has a clothes washer. I highly recommend this place for your trip to Florence.

Great apartment in the heart of Florence, the view from both balconies is fantastic. The location is really excellent for a city stay, a parking garage is in the immediate vicinity. The center and all attractions are reachable in a few minutes' walk. For the apartment you should be fit, the steps up are feasible and keep fit, but not suitable for older people and families with strollers. We thank you for the stay and the beautiful apartments and will be happy to come back, highly recommended.

Communication with the hosts was excellent. Donatella and Giani were responsive to email and WhatsApp queries. Erika, the property manager, is also a chef and we took a pasta-making class with her as she and her daughter prepared a wonderful dinner for us in the apartment, Donatella put us in touch with a wonderful tour guide, an art historian, and we booked a half day tour with her. This entire apartment could not have been more perfect for our time in Florence. We stayed for 8 nights. Our party included myself (50 yrs), my husband (57 yrs), our son (26) and his girlfriend (25). Yes there are 92 stairs leading up to the apartment, but none of us found them to be detrimental to the experience — even when we were up and down several times in one day. Getting oversized luggage up was the hardest part, but again, not too bad with patience, and certainly not a deal-breaker to be able to stay at this lovely property. The apartment is at the top of the building and offers incredible views out every window and from both patios. Every bit worth the stairs!! The house manager Erika was extremely attentive and helpful. She checked in via whatsapp several times and also very helpfully arranged taxis for our departure times. In short, Erika is wonderful and added to our experience. The apartment is clean with a very well stocked kitchen for cooking and dining. We cooked dinner twice and enjoyed dining outside on the pretty patios. Hearing the church bells throughout the day and early evening just adds to the ambiance. Further, the owners have prepared a very detailed book - in English - with tips for things inside the apartment (washing machine, dishwasher, air conditioner, etc. VERY helpful since everything is in Italian otherwise) maps and recommendations for dining, shopping, things to see, day-trips, how to order transports/taxis, and much more. The decor is fantastic, especially upstairs in the main living room/kitchen/dining. Light-filled, comfortable, classy and peaceful. Exactly like the photos. The beds were very comfortable, if slightly harder than our American beds. We have always stayed at the St. Regis in Florence, but this time chose this apartment since we were a party of four. I can honestly say that we will always stay at this apartment moving forward, even if it is just my husband and myself. It is perfection if you want a true luxury Florence living experience on a quiet yet well-located street.

This is a fantastic property! It’s up about 5 flights of stairs but the views and apartment are totally worth the daily small but if exercise. The apartment itself is absolutely lovely, very large, and clean. We spent a lot of time drinking wine watching the sunset from the terraces and listening to the bustle of the city below us. The apartment is fully stocked, they even left a bottle of wine from the owners winery. I think our favorite detail was the large book of recommendations and education about Italian culture, museums, and cuisine that the owners created and left in the home for guests to use. We referenced that multiple times a day to choose where to eat, shop, drink, etc. Erika was also very helpful during our stay. We would text her on WhatsApp and she would help call restaurants to book reservations or provide recommendations on things to do and places to eat. The apartment was in the center of everything. Easy access to main attractions and tons of restaurants. But overall we had an amazing stay and 10/10 would recommend anyone visiting Florence to stay here as well. You won’t regret it!

This was an amazing place to stay. My husband, father and I stayed here and loved every minute. From the beautiful terraces to the lovely bedrooms, we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We really appreciated the well-appointed kitchen, it was perfect for an afternoon cooking lesson from Erika! Erika’s information was given in the apartment’s guidebook and we were so glad that we arranged a cooking class with her! A visit to Florence would not have been the same!
Lastly, the check in and check out process was seamless thanks to Donatella’s communication and the help of Giovanni upon arrival. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, you will not be disappointed. Lastly, the steps are completely fine and make you appreciate the “apartment in the sky” even more! Believe me, you do more walking and standing throughout your stay so the steps eventually become an afterthought. Grazie, Donatella!!! We hope to return!

I looked at hundreds of apartments, I am so glad we found this one Don’t worry about the stairs, they are no problem at all , nothing compared to all the walking you do in the city , and my family made a game out of it. And so worth it when u walk into the amazing apartment. Mariano was a delight ! He was so sweet and helpful! We want to come back and go to his farm ;) The area you are In is the best in Florence, close to everything , and restaurants just down the street. Grazie!!

This is by far one of the best places I have ever stayed. Last summer we were with a bigger group and stayed in another one of Donatella's apartments. This year it was just my best friend and I and this place could not have been a better fit - luxurious, homey, beautiful, pristine, and oh my talk about the perfect place to enjoy a Tuscan wine with unparalleled views of the city! Renewed Refreshed and Revitalized : That’s the name of this review and exactly how we felt after staying in this lovely apartment again this year. The owners have just renovated the bedrooms and bathrooms, repainted the entire apartment and revitalized the whole space. The bedrooms are worthy of any 5 star hotel…comfortable beds, spotlessly clean bed linens and towels, padded headboards, bedside lights, plenty of built-in closet space and a restful and serene colour palette that just enhances the sense of peace and tranquility…exactly what you want in your holiday bedroom!
The bathrooms are equally impressive…the ensuite is all marble and feels very luxurious, and the other bathroom is very large….not at all what you would expect in an old Florentine building. Showers in both bathrooms are terrific. Both bathrooms have hair dryers and the bigger bathroom is equipped with a clothes washer…very convenient!
Lighting everywhere is bright and welcoming and the white tiled floors on the entry level give a real sense of expanded space. Everything is spotlessly clean.
The upper level is everything you would hope for…360 degree views over the city of Florence..something historic outside every window… Santa Croce church from the kitchen, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Piazzale Michelangelo from either end of the bigger terrace, the Badia, the Campanile and the Duomo from the smaller terrace, and the church bells ringing just add to the charm and enjoyment of the apartment. A wonderful mix of antique furniture enhances the décor and gives a real feeling of home. The apartment is equipped with 2 wide screen TVs and wireless BluRay speakers. The Wifi connection was fast and functioned perfectly. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would need to enjoy a meal at home should you choose to, the marble top on the kitchen island perfect for making homemade pasta. The stairs were not an issue for us. We have stayed in the apartment before and have always enjoyed it. The recent updates and refurbishments just made our experience there even more enjoyable.
Donatella and Gianni are stellar hosts and are readily available to ensure that your visit is everything you hope it will be and more. Don’t hesitate to book this wonderful apartment situated in the very heart of historic Florence.

Hosts and Marciano the principle point of contact absolutely super and ultra helpful. Electrics prone to tripping because of the heavy AC loading in the heat of summer, but straight forward to reset. Bedrooms may not to be to everyones liking, but beautifully cool in the heat.

The apartment is gorgeous and well maintained. The interior is tastefully decorated and feels like being in a dream while the 360 degree views of Florence wash over you. Dona and Erika were so gracious in setting up a chef to come cook for us and it was the best meal we had during our 30 day trip in Italy. Everything about the place was magical and would highly recommend if you’re looking in Florence.

The housekeeper was very accessible and helpful, and even gave my family a wonderful cooking lesson with local ingredients from the local market. I would highly recommend. My only caveat is that this is a top floor apartment with no elevator. For us, the climb was simply a good workout, but for those with a mobility disability the climb may be difficult or not possible. Thank you so much for wonderful memories.
